(Bill
Allen) In 1972 the Baader Meinhof gang was going around Germany bombing
US Military Buildings. Marines in Hamberg Germany were on
full
alert and had German Police posted at the front and back drive ways of
the Consulate. Read about the Baader Meinhof gang in the link

Comment by Dave Worden 13MAY2012:
I noticed a note regarding the Baader Meinhof gang in
one of the yearly listings. We also had a parking lot full of
German
police one weekend in 1970. There was a protest march scheduled
for a
street one block from the Consulate and there was fear that they might
change
the route and head our way. Nothing happened. No big deal,
but we
did get to share some excellent brotchen and wursts with the guys in
parking
lot!
