Gunnery Sergeant

Entered the Marine Corps in August 1982. Underwent Recruit Training at
MCRD Parris Island, SC. Upon graduation from recruit training, he
reported to Camp Geiger, NC where he completed Infantry Training
School, MOS 0311. From 1982 to 1986 he served as a Radio Operator,
Assistant Team Leader, Team Leader and Special Equipment Locker NCOIC.
On 23 Oct 1983 his platoon deployed to Beirut Lebanon where he served
with the American contingent of the Multi-National Peacekeeping Force
with BLT 1/8, 24th MAU. In December of 1983 he was meritoriously
promoted Corporal. In July 1984 he was selected as NCO of the Quarter
and meritoriously promoted to Sergeant. He attended Amphibious
Reconnaissance School, SCUBA School, Jump School, and NCO School. From
1986 to 1989 he served with the Inspector Instructor Staff (3d Force
Reconnaissance Company) Mobile, AL where he served as the Assistant
Training NCO and Special Equipment Locker NCO. He attended Static Line
Jump Master School. From 1989 to 1994 he served with 2d Force
Reconnaissance Company, Camp Lejeune, NC where he served as a Dive
Locker SNCOIC, Platoon Sergeant and Detachment Operations Chief. During
his tour as a Platoon Sergeant and Det Operations Chief he participated
in operations in former Republic of Yugoslavia and Somalia with the
22nd MEU. He attended Military Freefall School and Military Freefall
Jump Master School. In May of 1994 he reported to MSG School and
graduated with class 4-94. He served as a Detachment Commander at
American Embassy Algiers, Algeria from July 1994 through January 1996
and Canberra, Australia from January 1996 through September 1996. In
July 1996 he was meritoriously promoted to Gunnery Sergeant. He
reported for duty as an Instructor Advisor in November 1996.
